We really enjoy private locations that usually require a permit to photograph in like Van Vleck House & Gardens in Montclair NJ. This allows us to have the whole property to ourselves and the lovely couple. Helen and Alex definitely looked nervous at the beginning, like all of our couples! They were receptive to all our directions and also made sure they enjoyed each other’s company while doing the silly actions we give them. All the natural laughs and giggles, whether it’s from something very funny the other one said, or just out of feeling a bit awkward – we capture it in the most natural way that looks perfect at the end. The couple were so sweet around each other that it made photographing them in perfect lighting such a charm and a fun evening. As the light got lower, we ventured out to Montclair’s city center to stroll around the fancy shops and restaurants. We love capturing low light environments too, as it can totally change the mood of the engagement session too!
While we encourage any personal items, props, or pets to be included in the engagement session, sometimes a simple bouquet helps set the mood. The beautiful white rose bouquet was created by the very talented Unique Blooms Floral Design
We also added video to our session and you can just really see how natural the couple looks thanks to our natural prompts and good vibes we give them. All of our photo sessions with all of our couples share the same fun and romantic experience!
